Slowing Down

I learned something today. It is time for me to slow down.

As I sit here, I had another marathon day. Drew had his annual eye exam which is always a tad anxiety provoking. Besides his regular average, everyday vision loss, he has a form of corneal endothelial dystrophy. He has what looks like blisters on his cornea. So far, we have been very blessed that it is stable and remains out of his line of vision. We just need to take him back every year to see that there is no progression. So far, so good! Today was the exam and it all looks well. After that, it was off to get him new glasses. He does look handsome in them!

That was the morning and there was soccer practice to be had for 2 1/2 hours. I was wiped out afterward, but I had to keep Michael out of the house while Andy and the older boys left for our nephew's varsity football game (to avoid meltdown). Michael and I went and bought the new infant seat for the baby, and then met my sisters and their girls for dinner. We got home about 8:45, and I am exhausted.

It was at this point that I realized that I need to slow down. This babe is coming in 2 weeks or less, and I am utterly exhausted. I need to take some time to put my feet up, and I am planning to do so. I even canceled lunch with a friend for tomorrow. Even though I really want to see her, I knew that I would end up overdoing it. So, now I rest-because the time is coming where there won't be any!

Hi Therese,
Enjoy the time that you have before the baby comes, for in no time, you will have a new baby to care for.
Blessings,

It's so easy to overdo it when there's so much going on. Try to take it easy as much as you can the next couple of weeks. Let me know if you need anything! I know I'm not much help during the day, but evenings and weekends you know I'm available!

(imagine cute bobble head) ahuh, ahuh, ahuh, I agree. slow down sweets. Can friend come to you for lunch one day? When I was on bed rest with twins I had a couple of friends that once a week would bring lunch over on their lunch hour and we'd share here at the house. So glad to hear you got the new car seat too. I am so excited!! She's almost here! Go put your fit up and grab your knitting. Enjoy.

I am right there with you :) Yesterday I almost passed out several times because I am so short of breath but didn't slow down to accomodate it. We need to enjoy these last peaceful days LOL.
