Friday's Foto Finish Fiesta-my brother is coming home!

This picture was taken in April, 2006. It is my oldest brother, Sal, and my boys. It was taken days after my Dad died, as Sal was on his way back to Texas. Between 2004 and 2006, Sal took numerous trips home from Fort Worth to be with my parents during their illnesses and in their final days. I remember how sad I was when this picture was taken because I wasn't sure when Sal would be back now that my parents were gone. Sal is a doctor-a gynecological oncologist, and a really good one. He also has a loving wife, Susan, and 5 children of his own. After all the time he spent here during those 2 1/2 years, he needed the time with his family, and with his practice.

He has been back a few times since this picture. Today is a happy day for me because my big brother is coming home! He had a conference in Chicago, and his 30th High School Reunion is this weekend (yes, he is 10 1/2 years older than I am). We are having a family gathering at my sister, Mary's tonight, and another one at my sister, Margaret's on Sunday.I really cherish these gatherings, and am truly excited for the weekend!!!

What fun. Those extended-family gatherings are like looking forward to Christmas, aren't they?

Cute boys!

Its so nice to have a family reunion that is not connected to illness or death in the family. Everyone can just enjoy each other's company.

I hope you have a great visit
