Welcome!!!

Hello to all of you Camp Candid Carrie members who decided to brave the bus trip to another Wisconsin blog. Yesterday's blog, written by Sydney, is a favorite of mine! She is a friend in real life, and did an excellent job talking about all that Milwaukee has to offer!

I am a native Wisconsinite who fled the state for four years of college (including a semester in Rome), but who now calls Milwaukee home, and most likely will permanently. We have really great weather here. I love the change of seasons-although the almost 100 inches of snow last year was a bit too much. I would love to share some of the seasonal offerings in my area: Spring flowers, LOTS of snow in winter, and lovely warm weather for swimming!

Speaking of summer, and warm weather, would you all like some ice cream? Let's head over to Kopp's-it's a Milwaukee tradition! Besides vanilla and chocolate, today's flavors are "Macadamia Nut" and "Pancakes and Maple Syrup". For me, I am going with the strawberry sundae!

You should also know that in our household, we are HUGE Packer fans, I have blogged about it a couple of times. You can check those out here and here. As I write this, I am waiting to hear the status of Brett Farve. I hate that he has looked like a crybaby, but after seeing him on TV on Sunday night when he flew into Green Bay, I am a little excited at the prospect of him maybe playing. I am still mad at him for turning our state into such a media circus, but we'll see what happens!

So, thanks for checking in and stopping by. Please feel free to hang out all day as there is lots to see and read around here. Just don't forget to leave me a comment so I can come visit you, too!

You had me at Kopp's Custard, nice touch adding their flavor of the day!

Mine? Red Raspberry.

I'm from the opposite side of the state but we're headed there for a weekend in Sept. Between you and Sydney, you are giving me ideas of things to do! I think we may need to check out Kopp's!

Columbus Ohio is home of Graters Ice Cream and being that the first shop was so close to the OSU campus they ahve a Buckeye flavor. It's vanillia ice cream with chuncks of buckeye candies (chocloate covered peanut butter balls) It's awesome. I know if Carrie see's this she will have something to say but I couldn't leave my state without mentioning my Bucks. :))

Love your site and I will be back later to look around.

Umm.. not to be persnickity, but Kopps is FROZEN CUSTARD! Much thicker and tastier than plain old ice cream. At least that's what I have to tell all my Illinois/Iowa folks who come to visit so they get how special a trip to Kopp's actually is. It's 100% better than ice cream! Nice post T! :-)

Frozen custard is the best however, there is a local debate about who has the best. I am still loyal to Leon's on the South Side of Milwaukee:-) It's even presidental with at least one Commander in Chief and Al Roker visit!

Oh, just ignore Mrs. Wilson. I mean, she's cute and all ... but she bleeds Ohio State colors. Seriously!

Oh hi, Jess.

I'm so sick of the Brett thing; I just wish it would be over. It looks like he's not going to be a Packer again (sad). It stinks how it all went down (for everyone concerned), but now I want to focus on the new season. Let's keep our fingers crossed that Aaron can withstand the pressure. I do NOT want to go to games to hear people booing him (SO tacky!)
