New Year's Day 2009

First of all-HAPPY 2009! I pray for many blessings on all of us this coming year.

I have been musing about 2009 this week, and wondering what I would write about in my first post of the new year. I don't believe in making resolutions per se because they never work. I do have hopes and aspirations for the coming year. So, I thought I would share some of those.

First of all, I want to work on a new behavioral plan for the kids. My friend, Lisa, recommended the book Have a New Kid by Friday. I am not one to normally read parenting books, but I feel like I need to do something. Michael has become quite the tantrumming 3 year old, and I need help in this battle. You'd think I'd have it down by my third boy, but I don't. I also need to work on a more consistent chore schedule for the older boys. Wish me luck on this one!

I also am looking for a spot in the day to call my own. Michael gave up his nap 10 months ago. With no break in the day while the kids are at school, and then teaching as soon as Andy gets home from work, there isn't much time to call my own. I so want some time to read or knit! I think I would feel a bit less stressed.

I am trying to get back in the habit of daily Mass. I was off to a good start this fall, and fell off the wagon. Michael I think does better when we have started off the day with Mass, and he has gotten very good at sitting through it. I am also looking for some spiritual reading to start off the year. I am in the middle of St. Therese's autobiography, again! I am wondering where to go next. Suggestions are appreciated!

I am also starting out on a new endeavor with a group of friends that have literally known me for half of my life. It is a blogging project, and that is all I am going to say for now-check back on Monday for more info!

My next hope for the new year involves two people in my life who are going through treatment for breast cancer. I pray for complete healing for both of them!

I think that is quite the list! Hopefully you'll join me as I work through these goals!

Happy New Year!

I love the new look Therese. I try to get to daily mass as much as possible too. Christopher is going to be 4 in February and I find when I take him often, he is better behaved and can sit really well. I also want to take Tom and Amelia as much as I can while they are doing home school.

St. Therese's autobiography was inspirational to me. After reading it I was glad to be named after such a special saint. I cannot think of anything to recommend of the top of my head but I will think about it and let you know.

I really could add doing more spiritual reading to my list of to do things in 2009.

BTW, I forgot to tell you, I got your ornament for our tree on New Years Eve. It was the same day as the pump arrived so it was overlooked at first. My girls loved it and put it on our tree straight away.

Thanks for sending it here.

Happy New Year!!

Lovely new template.

I will keep you in my prayers so that you can accomplish these things - keep calling on the Saints and your Guardian Angel. And, remember to rest in the Lord.

God bless,
Sarah
