Oh what a night!

Lately, sleep has not been good in our household. Most nights, at some point over the past couple of weeks, Michael has been making trips to our bed. I am trying to not have him sleep with us because he needs to sleep in his own bed. So, for example, this is how last night went:

3:30 AM Michael quietly comes into our room and lays next to me.
3:40 AM I realize Michael is here, and I take him back to bed.
3:45 AM "I need a grink of water!" my little angel screams at me. I comply thinking he will settle down.

4:00 AM Michael comes back to my bed.

This cycle repeats until about 5:30 AM when he falls back asleep in his own bed, and I fall into mine, and the alarm goes off 30 minutes later. I am not sure what to do about this. I think we went through this with the other boys, but I don't remember it. You know, mommy brain...I just know I am frustrated and need to sleep. I welcome any advice.

My real life friend, Corinne, is having the same difficulty, except she has another baby coming in a month. Go check her out, and leave her some friendly advice if you have any!

Oh my dear! We have been having this "battle of wills" if you will in our home for the past 2 weeks. The thing that has worked best is to tuck our daughter back in and say, "This is your bed Yaya. You need to sleep here." After this initial return to bed you do not say another word. You just point to their room and take them back to their bed and tuck them in again. NO WORDS! It's hard to do but what they want is that verbal reinforcement. Yaya is doing much better. Has even slept through the night again a couple times. (One of our problems is her bedroom is at the front of the house where all the noise from the street can be heard. GRRRRR!)
My heart goes out to you. Stay strong!

I'll tell you the same thing I told Cor - you have my prayers! Uff dah!

The "ick" is running through my veins, I fear. I was exposed to bronchitis and other kiddies snivels last week and on MOnday plus my hubby has something nasty . . . my nose is on fire (inside) and "running" but I can still breathe. I feel warm and very tuckered out . . . So, I'm PRAYING HARD for everyone

I think every Mommy I know right now is going through this very same thing.

I unfortunately have NO advice for you - as I'm creating my own little situation over here. See since Leo left, to avoid what you're going through, I've just given in and let the muffin sleep with me. One upside to a king-size bed! :)

Now remind me of all the advice you get when we're all sleeping under one roof.

And yes, you know I'd come clean for you - as for my house - girl, you don't even want to see it. It's a trainwreck. And I really mean that. Itsouttacontrol!

Michael, Michael, Michael!

Hopefully you will get a good amount of sleep without any interuptions soon!

Don't you hate when the alarm goes off and you have to wake up? I do!

One thing that really irritates me is being awakened in the middle of the night. No matter what it is for. I hope things get better for you very soon :)

Oh yes...musical beds...we know it well here in my house. I don't know if any of this will work or not...but here are some ideas.

1. If you don't have a nightime routine...get one!
2. Get him really, really, really tired during the day! Make him run laps or something!
3. We offer our kids 3 marshmallows in the morning if they've stayed in their bed all night! This does work most of the time!
4. Does he share a room with his brothers? If not, maybe you could move him in with one of them temporarily.
5. There's always Benadryl!

That's my two cents!!!

Oh..one last thing....you could try a novena to St. Joseph and ALWAYS say the St. Michael prayer!
