Just when we thought it was safe...a new virus enters the house! That's right, now we have stomach flu! Drew came down with it at dinner last night. Luckily, I saw it coming and hustled him away from the table before we had a mess on our hands!
So, now it is 3:30 in the morning, and I am writing this because, well. it's the middle of the night, my baby's sick and there is no where for me to lie down. He's got the couch-as he should, and the rocker and chair in here don't quite cut it. I had tried sleeping in my bed between his bouts of throwing up (our room is off the living room), which have been every 45 minutes to an hour. That plan worked until I came in at 2:30, and he said, "Mom, you said all I had to do was call Mama, and you'd come, and you didn't!" (Apparently, I missed a bout.) OK, I feel like the absolute worst Mom in the world right now, so here I stay, by his side waiting for the next round, and praying to the Blessed Mother every time he throws up that this will be the last time for him.
This kind of throwing up scares me. He literally has nothing left in his system. I have learned by now, that our pediatricians will say to just wait it out. I ended up in the hospital 3 times as a child for dehydration. I think about how scary that must have been for my Mom, and wish she was still here to talk to about it. Instead, I am asking her and my Dad to watch over him and let this pass quickly. So, if you have a second, say a quick prayer for my little Drew ( I know he's not so little anymore, but he is my baby-they all are!), and also for our family as I am sure that the other boys is not far behind.

Aw honey, that just breaks my heart. And smooch up Drew for me. I hope he's done and back to his old, happy, healthy self in no time.
Hang in there Mommy! You're doing great and I know your Mom and Dad will help you ALL get through this.
I wish I was close, cause you know I'd come help you CLEAN! :)
I am so sorry. We had two bouts of this virus this year. It is pretty wicked. Good luck!
Well thank you for all your prayers! I think the are working. Nina is sleeping a little better even though she has now caught a cold. You should have called me I was up too. I will now pray for you and your little one, as well as, keeping the rest of the gang healthy. This winter sounds like it's torture for everyone.
Poor Drew! I hope he feels better soon!
I'm so sorry you are back to illness in the house again---just when you thought you were done! My gosh...
I will send good thoughts and prayers your way Therese. My boyfriend is that way when he's sick with the flu. Constant throwing up every half an hour and at times I've almost just loaded him up and driven him to the hospital but he always pulls through.
Good luck!
Prayers on the way! Go slow on the water/drinks - one sip, hold it down ten minutes, another sip, hold it down ten minutes . . . He'll be okay.
OH Therese. Many prayers coming your way..and don't feel bad about not getting up the one time with him. I can barely get up at all when my girls are sick. IT is so hard for me to wake up in the middle of the night, much less stay up all night like you have.
You need a vacation, poor woman!
I'm getting this late, but prayers heading your way anyway!! I did pray for you in my Holy Hour last night for a good nights sleep, I meant last night....maybe God has a different night in mind?
I hope he's doing better Therese! I'm praying for everybody!
