Indulge Me...

I have been feeling very disheartened in the past week or so because of the election. I remember feeling this way both in 1992 and 1996. I walked around with this feeling in the pit of my stomach fearful of what the outcome of the election would be. I do take my stance on faith and politics personally. I am not sure how a person-liberal or conservative-could not. I care about my country, I love my country. I am saddened and scared at the thought of what might occur in this country dependent on the outcome of the election, specifically if the Democrats win.

I want to thank those of you who have been so supportive of my speaking out in this forum. And to those of you who have either clicked off the page, chosen not to comment, or left a less than flattering comment, that is OK too. We are blessed to live in a land with freedom of speech.

I found this video posted on another blog. I am not sure who this man is, but wow, he gets the picture! What is interesting is that he is from a family of liberals but has the courage to make his case for the conservative movement. Enjoy!

Scary times for sure. I'm not positive that either candidate has the ability to lead us out of the national crisis we find ourselves in. I'm all for stating one's opinions. Listening to every point of view helps to clarify your own thoughts.

I am in no way a 'political person'. I usually try to ignore what is going on, but lately I've become more aware, and I do agree, it is scary!

Like the lyrics of one great singer...."Everything looks better with my eyes closed...."

"...all my cousins I know of...." - HILARIOUS!

"...here sucker, sucker, sucker...." OH MY WORD! He's good.

He makes very good, logical points - and I loved his animation. Thanks for sharing that at your blog!

This is great. Thanks for posting it. I'm not political, but have had the drop out stomach for several elections, too. My husband and son are in the National Guard so I have to pay more attention. I'm so glad that someone said it isn't a racial issue.

Therese, I don't know if I've done more harm than good by not commenting lately. I've been out here stalking (which I do so well ;) I admire your beliefs and how strong you feel about expressing them. I'm sorry that you've gotten some negative nellies out there, but don't be disheartened...believe in yourself and what you feel is right!

Now the reason I haven't been commenting is that I don't necessarily hold the same views and I wanted you to get supportive comments because it is very brave to talk about religion/politics, etc...But now I realize I could have been supportive this way and I'm sorry if my stopping in and not making any comments made it seem like I was discounting what you had written. I love to hear different peoples' perspectives and what has lead them to certain beliefs; I just don't always have poignant or clever comments to leave.
