Nervous Nellie

So, I am nervous. In the decision to tell people about our latest addition to the family, I have suddenly become nervous. There is nothing wrong, I just am nervous. I have 3 beautiful sons, but I also have 2 angels in heaven. Right now, I am going through the, why did we start telling everyone? What if I end up having to go back and say I miscarried? I have no reason to think that this would happen, but what if?

I have had constant reminders this week of what can go wrong. One dear blogging buddy is pregnant for the third time, and so far, so good, but she lost the first 2. My sister lost a baby at 17 weeks. Another dear friend just lost a niece 2 weeks before her anticipated due date. I hear all of this and think, that couldn't be me, not this time, but what if it is? Life is just so fragile and I am scared.

Any suggestions on how to cure the nervousness?

The answer is deep inside your heart. Ignore all the whispers of doubt and focus on The Voice, the only voice which brings peace. Jesus. He is in the boat with you, whether stormy weather or sunshine-He will not leave you. Your newest little one will always be your gift from Him-trust, be grateful and enjoy! I love you! Hope

Fear is natural. Especially when we've been there before. Trust in the Lord with all your heart! He is ever faithful to those who believe in him. Such loss creates a fear in us like no other. Please don't let in the fear and doubt! I'll be praying for you my dear.

Okay, Hope and Bird said it way better than I could. But yes, just keep trusting in our dear Lord. He has you ALL in the palm of HIS hands and he will not fail you. I will make it my prayer for you that you are able to release some of the doubt and fear -- and I hope that brings you some sort of peace and comfort.

Love you, honey.

I'm right there with you! Mike and I used to crack all kinds of jokes when Katie Holmes was pregnant and Tom Cruise bought an ultrasound machine so they could see baby Suri anytime they wanted to. Now? If I would somehow come into a really large sum of money, I would totally buy one! Reassurance is everything . . .no matter where it comes from or in what form. I'm praying for you and your baby, along with so many other people. Just relax and enjoy this wonderful time!

Therese,
As someone who's been there (six times), the fear is completely understandable. What I try to do is focus on the joy of the life. Be happy to have each moment with this little child. No matter what, each new life is a gift from God. Pray to unite your will with His. It is good to share the good news. You need the prayers and support of your friends and family.

You'll definitely be in our prayers.

I don't have much advice to give, but if anything; think about the positive things instead of all the negative things.

A favorite Bible Verse is found in II Timothy 1:7 It reads, For God did not give us the spirit of fear but of power and love and a strong mind.
I know we are not suppose to lift verse from the Bible without considering the context, but I do use just this verse when I am fearful. It has calmed me in many situations that I could not face.
He will keep you also. Do not give into fear. It is the tool of the devil.
I am so looking forward to knowing what he/she is so I can get started on something.

Banish all of those fears and as hard as it is to do....think about the healthy strong baby you have growing inside of you and KNOW that everything will be ok. And it will. I lost my daughter almost 8 years ago when she was 8 days old and so I do understand how hard it would be to try again. Your fears are certainly not misplaced but I know God will help you through this and He'll make it all ok.

I have never lost a baby, so I really don't know how you feel. I do have to say that I did worry both times I was pregnant, though. It can be scary. I wish you the best and I hope everything goes well.

I am in agreement with all the above. Here's what I do when in fear. I give it it's due amount of time. Then Bless it and let it go. When pregnant with the twins we often had little scares. When I would get freaked by the things they told us could be wrong with Baby A Tom would step in. Let me cry and worry a little. Then Mr.Engineer would tell me how those machines couldn't possibly be that accurate, etc..... We would say a prayer, Bless our babies, and let it go to God. Roll over and pick up my crochet and continue to work on his blanket. We don't know the plan, only He does. Whenever you need to send a little Nervous Nellie post out. Go ahead and do it.Be nervous for those few minutes. Then give it to us to lift in prayer. When you hit publish post. Zap, let it go. Find something positive and fun to do. Ok? We got your back girl. Alway think in the positive. Like, Where will this baby go if it's a girl? We'll need more pink in this sea of boys! Another boy would be great too! One more closer to a Basketball team! Thinking of you always. Lifting you in prayer. Blessings {{{{{{{++Terese++}}}}}}}}} Hey Look there! I just created a Blessing Cyber Hug! LOVE YOU;)

I am right there with you-after two losses it is nervewracking and scary to hope again. We have told nearly everyone but the children and that makes me nervous!!

I will be praying for you and the little life inside you!

What everyone else said is so, so true-just trust in Him.
