On my mind...

I have a lot on my mind lately, and I have been trying to formulate these thoughts into a post. My heart has been so heavy since the new President took office. I worry about the direction of the country and the world as we know it.

Economically, these stimulus plans are all wrong. Money is being filtered into areas that couldn't possibly stimulate the economy. The way to do this is to lower taxes so people have more of their own money to spend. Raising taxes on the wealthy doesn't work either. If they have more money, they can hire more people and give more to charity. Last week, I saw the head of the communist party of the USA on a news show, and he is thrilled with the direction of the country. I, however, am not.

Then, there was yesterday's executive order about embryonic stem cell research. This order so saddens me. And you can't use the argument that I don't understand. I DO understand. I have a nephew who is Type I Diabetic, and I have lost both of my parents to cancer. Trust me, I do want an end to these diseases, but not at the expense of human life. The cost is too high. Thus far, the only promising leads with stem cells have been with ADULT stem cells. I think it makes far more sense both scientifically and morally to study adult stem cells.

This is one of those times, when we need to continue to pray, and pray I will!

It's always darkest before the dawn. Cliche, yes, but that's sort of what makes it true. Yes, keep praying and don't fall into dispair, for that is Satan taking away your hope and joy. Do not let the world steal your joy! Stand and fight! You have my unending prayers.

I meant despair. Geesh, I need more coffee, I can't spell at all this morning!

I'm sorry for your heavy heart, lately. I wish I could say I have been paying attention and know what's going on, but I honestly don't. I can't follow politics very well, because I just don't understand any of it. I was not raised to follow it, my parents hated anything political. I just hope that in the end it all works out.

Therese, I was going to post the same thing about embryonic stem cell research. I hope that people are seeing that if they did not elect the anti Christ they elected his first cousin.
We have to keep our eyes on the prize that is before us, because it is only going to get worse here on earth.

Well, I think it's going to get worse before it gets better. I'm thinking of the "wolf in sheeps clothing" angle. I am praying too.

Hey auntie t!!!!!!!!
Well, i don't know a lot about the economy but i agree that we all should just pray and wait to see what happens.
When my mom got sick i started to pray a rosary every night before bed to help out. It helped me out so much because it let me fall asleep knowing that God is there.

Lots of Love,

Anne Lococo

I'm praying with you and I think Miss Anne might be on to something. Yes, let's all get out our rosaries -- wouldn't that be wonderful!?!!! I believe it's the only way to conversion of hearts.

You have seen my posts on who I voted for and my hopes that Obama can do what he has promised. So far, I'm not a happy camper. I'm also seeing many of his supporters realizing his promises aren't going to happen either. Like you, I continue to pray for our country and those impacted daily by decisions made by our leaders. We have to stay strong!

I think many people are like, "What? This isn't what we were voting for?!?!" And if they aren't, they will be! Many Obama supporters were just looking for something other than Bush. Well, they got it. They just forgot to figure out who the "other" was. Hold tight and do pray, the ride has just begun.

What do you think about his teacher union "attack?" My husband is a teacher. I find it quite interesting. Not against getting some "dead wood" out of public schools. Not sure if he's not just all talk about it. Should be interesting to see where education goes.

One last comment, we go to the Catholic church. Father Robert strongly urged us to really think about who each candidate was for the weeks leading up to election day. Would you believe there was actually some dope who wore an Obama Biden t-shirt to church after the election? I just don't get some people.

Hi, Therese!

I totally understand how you feel. It's been one thing after another, starting with the reversal of the Mexico City policy (no surprise there), and this new executive order, supposedly to put science in its "rightful place." I don't understand why they don't even pay attention to the evidence--embryonic stem cell research DOESN'T WORK. Now I hear that FOCA is about to be introduced any day now.

I'm curious--what kind of teaching do you do online?

All that we can do is pray and hope for the better!
